CLEVELAND, Miss.- UAPB's Men's Cross Country Team took second place in the 2008 Delta State University Cross Country Invitational. The team lost to Christian Brothers University but beat out Mississippi Valley of the SWAC.

Moses Alukunyang and Brian Kibet Giken took second and third place respectively.  Stephen Kipkuri took fifth place while Yator Boniface came in eighth.  Matthias Haller and and Ryan Burchfield took eighteenth and twenty-ninth place.

"The guys looked great because they ran together as a group.  They stayed close together, which is important for cross country racing which is not an individual, but a team sport.  I feel that the SWAC Championship will be very competitive this year with Prairie View trying to three-peat, and Grambling and MVSU trying hard to win." said Coach Curtis Pitman, Head Coach
