PINE BLUFF, Ark.-Several costly miscues and errors prevented the Arkansas-Pine Bluff Lady Lions from capturing their first conference victory of the season against Southern University on Monday evening.
UAPB played well at times offensively as outside hitter Jenitra Shields erupted for 15 kills in what was an impressive outing on her behalf.
After defeating the Lady Lions 25-18 in the matches opening set Arkansas-Pine Bluff attempted to rally in the second set of the match as they forced SU to the brink before losing 25-23. The Lady Jags rebounded to also take the matches third set 25-17.
Arkansas-Pine Bluff will travel to face Arkansas-Monticello on Saturday, Oct 31st in what will be the teams last non-conference match of the season.
