BATON ROUGE, La.-The Southern Lady Jaguars (4-5, 1-1 SWAC) defeated the Arkansas-Pine Bluff Lady Lions (0-18, 0-5) at Seymour Gymnasium 25-23, 25-20, and 20-16 on Friday.
Jenitra Shields led all UAPB players with 11 kills during the match. Mica Franklin added five kills and Philana Hemlee and Jasmine Jacobs each contributed three. Franklin also tallied 21 assists and Jacobs had 11 assists to go along with 11 digs.
The Lady Lions will have several days to regroup during the upcoming week. Arkansas-Pine Bluff will host Arkansas-Monticello at 6 p.m. on Oct. 12th at H.O. Clemmons Arena located on the campus of UAPB.
