DENVER, Colo.- Going into the season UAPB head coach George Ivory wanted to see his team compete well throughout the duration of non-conference play. During the Golden Lions first two road outing they did just that as they gave Colorado and Denver all they could handle.
UAPB's upset bids fell short but the experience gained should bode well for Golden Lions as they prepare to enter Southwestern Athletic Conference play later this season. The Golden lost to CU 88-72 and to Denver by the score of 75-56.
Arkansas-Pine Bluff's Terrance Calvin played extremely well during the Golden Lions season opener tallying 21 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the floor to go along with 7 rebounds against the Buffalos.
Lebaron Weathers had the hot hand versus Denver as he only missed shot going7-of-8 from the field for 18 points.
Arkansas-Pine Bluff will return to the hardwood on Wednesday, Nov. 18th in non-conference road action against the University of Texas at El Paso.
