PINE BLUFF, Ark- Costly turnovers and penalties severely hurt the Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions in a pivotal Southwestern Athletic Conference match-up against the Southern Jaguars on Saturday night.
Led by quarterback Joshua Boudreaux the Golden Lions had success offensively during the contest but were only able to score 10 points as they fumbled the ball twice inside of red zone.
Boudreaux went 17-of-25 for 182 yards and 1 touchdown, while running back Mickey Dean paved the way for UAPB’s ground attack rushing the ball 18 times for 97 yards averaging 5.4 yards per carry.
Arkansas-Pine Bluff dominated the game clock as they won the time of possession battle holding the ball 35:08 minutes of the game. Freddie Fairchild had an impressive outing as he contributed 11 tackles including a half tackle for a loss of two yards.
The loss drops the Golden Lions to 4-3 overall on the season and 2-2 in conference play. UAPB’s next game will take place on Saturday, Nov. 7th in Little Rock at War Memorial Stadium at 1:30 pm.
