BIRMINGHAM - The Southwestern Athletic Conference announced its 2009 All-Conference Baseball Honors Tuesday night, headlined by the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff’s Justin Moring who was voted Pitcher of the Year.
All honors were voted on by the league’s coaches and sports information departments.
Moring, a 6-2, 210-pound senior from Pine Bluff, Ark., had an 8-2 record with a 2.96 ERA in 14 starts. He threw six complete games with one shutout and was fourth in the league in strikeouts with 66. His win total tied for second in the Conference, and his ERA ranked third among all pitchers with at least five starts.
