PINE BLUFF, Ark.- Several untimely errors caused the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff Volleyball team to lose their conference opener to the Texas Southern Lady Tigers on Tuesday night.
UAPB's Jenitra Shields paced the Lady Lions attack as she tallied a total of 13 kills to go along with 3 block assists. On a positive note the Lady Lions captured their first set of the season after outlasting the Lady Tigers in the matches second set 31-29.
Texas Southern rallied to win the match capturing the third and fourth sets 25-13 and 25-19 respectively. The loss moves UAPB's overall record to 0-8 and 0-1 in conference play.
The Lady Lions will participate in a tournament at Central Arkansas this weekend before returning home to host the Lady Bears on Monday, September 14th at 6:00 p.m.
