Missed Opportunities Plague Lady Lions In Loss To Alabama State

MONTGOMERY, Ala.- Missed free throws and turnovers proved to be costly for the Arkansas Pine Bluff Lady Lions basketball team as they dropped a heartbreaker to the Alabama State Lady Hornets on Monday evening.
UAPB fell to ASU 61-58 in a contest that was decided during the closing minutes of the second half. Despite placing three players in double figures scoring Arkansas Pine Bluff was unable to get critical defensive stops when needed as Alabama State converted several big shots down the stretch.
Shay Holmes once again led the Lady Lions in scoring as she connected on 3-of-10 field goal attempts and 8-of-10 attempts from the free throw line. Jasmine Abrams added 11 points while Jasmine Blanks tallied 10 points as she was perfect from the field (4-of-4).
Arkansas Pine Bluff will host Southern on Saturday, Jan 16th in a game which will mark the Lady Lions home debut. Tip off is slated for 5:30 pm at H.O. Clemmons
