Lady Lions Rout Alabama A&M On The Road To Claim First SWAC Victory

HUNTSVILLE, Ala.- The Arkansas-Pine Bluff women’s basketball team defeated the Alabama A&M Lady Bulldogs on Saturday in dominating fashion.
The women’s team captured their first conference win of the season netting a double-digit victory at 75-59. Laquisha Slaton erupted for 19 points on a 6-of-12 shooting night from the floor. Tashayla Jackson and Shay Holmes tallied 12 and 11 points respectively as the Lady Lions clicked on all cylinders versus AAMU as they move to 1-1 in SWAC play.
With the win the women’s teams will now get set to travel to Montgomery, Ala. to face the Alabama State Lady Hornets. The women’s contest will tip-off at 5:00 pm in order to accommodate a national television broadcast of the men’s game on ESPNU at 8:00 pm (CST).
