Men's Basketball Wins Home Debut Against Southern 64-51

PINE BLUFF, Ark. -Tyree Glass led the way with 14 points and 10 rebounds and George Davis contributed 14 points as the Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions prevailed in their home opener, 64-51 over Southern on Saturday night.
The Golden Lions (3-12, 3-1 Southwestern Athletic Conference) played their first home game after playing their first 14 contests this season on the road against some of the top teams in the nation.
UAPB led 28-27 at halftime and pulled away early in the second half after a 12-2 run to gain a 46-31 advantage with 10:59 left to play. The Golden Lions upped their lead to 18 points before Southern pulled to within 8 points at 57-49 with 3:29 remaining.
Arkansas-Pine Bluff was able to dominate inside, outscoring the Jaguars 47-22 in the paint. UAPB returns to the hardwood on Mon. Jan 18th to face the Alcorn State Braves at 7:30 pm in H.O. Clemmons Arena.
