GRAMBLING, La.- Arkansas Pine Bluff's Tyree Glass finished with 14 points leading the Golden Lions to a 68-56 victory over Grambling State on Saturday.
The victory assures UAPB a minimum of a number two seed at the 2010 SWAC Basketball Tournament set to be held in Shreveport.
The Golden Lions shot 46.8 percent from the field (22-for-47), while Grambling State only shot 28.9 percent (13-for-45). Arkansas-Pine Bluff outrebounded the Tigers 39-28 while also going 21-for-31 from the free throw line (67.7 percent).
The win marks Arkansas-Pine Bluff's seventh in a row and sets up a critical SWAC West versus East Showdown between UAPB and Jackson State on Monday in Jackson. The game will be televised nationally on ESPNU at 6:00 pm.
