Track And Field Concludes SWAC Championships In Third and Fourth Place

BATON ROUGE, La.- The Arkansas-Pine Bluff Women’s and Men’s  Track and Field teams concluded the 2010 Southwestern Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships in third and fourth place respectively.
 
The Alabama State women’s and men’s teams swept the Championships held at the Carl Maddox Fieldhouse.
 
The Lady Hornets won totaling 220 points. Jackson State finished second with 104 points, and the Univ. Arkansas-Pine Bluff finished third with 65 points marking a big improvement from last season for the Lady Lions.
 
On the men’s side Alabama State finished first followed by Grambling State (2nd), Southern (3rd). Arkansas-Pine Bluff finished the meet in a four-way tie for fourth place.

Men’s 5000 meter run – Jimmy Oribo, UAPB 15:15.97 , beating previous mark of 15:16.97 set last year
