Nate Kilbert is poised and ready for the challenge of not rebuilding but restructuring the mindset to winning for a Lady Lions basketball team that saw only one victory last year.
Kilbert comes to the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff from Mississippi Valley State University, a place where he reached championship glory as a player and as a coach. Kilbert spent eleven years pacing the sidelines as the head women's coach and assistant volleyball coach to his wife
Alyse Wells-Kilbert, who now serves as the Associate AD/ Senior Woman Administrator at UAPB.
Coach Kilbert, in his new role, has virtually everyone from last years team, including five starters and six letterwinners.
The season starts for the Lady Lions on Sunday, November 11, as the Lady Lions travel to Manhattan, KS to do battle against the Lady Wildcats of Kansas State. The Lady Lions return for their home opener on November 15, when they play host to Philander Smith at the H.O. Clemmons Arena (tip-off is slated for 6:00 pm). This will be the first time Golden Lion fans get a chance to see the new look Lady Lions as they embark on a new path to greatness.
