Cecilia “Cece” Thompson is a native of Phoenix, Arizona. She moved to Arkansas in 2008 to attend The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. While at UAPB, Mrs. Thompson was very involved on campus. She was a member of the Softball Team and the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, where she served as vice president and president, the Biology Club, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, and the Alpha Rho Chapter.
In December 2012, Mrs. Thompson graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from UAPB. Upon graduation, Mrs. Thompson went overseas to play professional softball in Austria. She returned to the States and became the Assistant Softball Coach at UAPB.
Mrs. Thompson coached for three seasons. She also became a recruiter for the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff in 2014.
In 2016, she took on the role of the Scholarship Coordinator and awarded academic-based scholarships to new incoming students, on top of being a full-time Recruiter and Scholarship Coordinator. Mrs.
Mrs. Thompson obtained her Master’s Degree in Student Affairs Administration and a Graduate Certificate in Advising from Arkansas Tech University in December 2019. She transitioned into her role of Transfer Coordinator in the Student Success Center at UAPB in April 2020.
Mrs. Thompson returned to the Athletic Department as an Assistant Softball/ Pitching Coach in 2020. She balanced softball and her role as the Transfer Coordinator through December of 2021.
In January 2022, she took on the Assistant Director of Athletic Academic Services role, where she works with Softball, Soccer, and Volleyball.
