PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas-After capturing two out of three games over the Prairie View A&M Lady Panthers the Arkansas-Pine Bluff Lady Lions were able to secure a third place finish in the Southwestern Athletic Conference’s Western division.
UAPB also solidified a number three seed in the 2009 SWAC Softball Tournament set to take place this Thursday, April 23rd thru Sunday April 26th.
Arkansas-Pine Bluff prevailed over Prairie View A&M 8-3, in game one before falling to PVAMU 3-0 in game two. During game three Arkansas-Pine Bluff was able to race off to a 15-0 advantage en route to sealing a 19-5 win over Prairie View A&M.
The Lady Lions will now look towards the SWAC tourney where they are scheduled to face the Jackson State Lady Tigers in first round action. The seven inning contest is set for Thursday, April 23rd at 4:30 p.m. All tournament games will take place at the Timberton Softball Complex located in Hattiesburg, Miss.
