Arkansas-Pine Bluff ends season with a loss to Jackson State

HATTIESBURG, Miss.-Arkansas-Pine Bluff dropped a 8-3 decision to the Jackson State Lady Tigers at the 2009 Southwestern Athletic Conference Softball Tournament.
The loss brings a close to Arkansas-Pine Bluff's softball season as they conclude the year with 10 conference victories tripling their win total from last season. The Lady Lions also advanced to the SWAC tourney for only the second time in school history.
Markia Herron was named to the 2009 All-SWAC First Team for her play over the course of the season. She was also selected to the SWAC All-Tournament First Team along with fellow teammate Valerie Higarda.
