JONESBORO, Ark. (Dec. 3) - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Men's Track and Field Team recorded 14 top 10 finishes and one first place finish in their first meet of the season, here Saturday afternoon at the ASU Kickoff Classic at the Convocation Center.

Travis Bibbs recorded the Golden Lions only first place finish with a leap of 13.54m in the triple jump. Also Bibbs took eight in the long jump with a leap of 6.46m.

Juwan Parker took third in the 400 meter dash with a time of 50.40 for UAPB only third place finisher.

Both
Rasheed McAlpin and Wade Gardner took fourth in their events with McAlpin recording a time of 2:00.53 in the 800 meter run and Gardner with a time of 4:30.99 in the one mile run.

The team of
Demetrius Thompson,
LaMarques Woodard,
Harlan Clarke and
Harry Self finished fifth in the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 3:19 for a second place finish.

UAPB had three Golden Lions to finish fifth in four events in
Nathan Brown, Thompson and Self. Brown recorded a throw of 12.25m in the shot put and 13.56m in the weight throw. Thompson with a time of 51.38 in the 400 meter dash and Self recording a time of 2:01.01 in the 800 meter run.

Miles Dortch took sixth in two of his events with a throw of 12.56m in the weight throw and 10.40m in the shot put, while Clarke took sixth in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:01.28.

Both
Kahmron Hymes and
Shevon Phipps finished seventh in the high jump with a leap of 1.91m.  Â

Rounding out the cast of top 10 finishers was
Tryan Lyons finishing eighth in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:02.80.
